Patrick is a soft-handed handler, who believes that the best way to produce a Champion is to make the dog want to love the show. He achieves this through positive reinforcement.

Patrick has been a contributing writer for Husky Tracks Magazine, in the column "A Tip From The Professional". Patrick also teaches a conformation handler’s class in the North Fort Myers, Florida area and all levels from novice to expert are welcome to come.

Most handlers can train a dog while in the ring, but this process takes a while for the dog to bond with them. Patrick can work with your dog on a show-to-show basis, but results are best accomplished through "BOOT CAMP" training. This is an intense, short term learning program usually two to four weeks long. The program is designed to get the most out of the dog’s ability to learn, away from the distractions of the home environment. Of course, just like any other learning and training program, the desired results vary from breed to breed and dog to dog. It is recommended the owner enhance these results with 5 minute daily follow up trainings.

All dogs registered in our Boot Camp, will be housedogs during their training. This facilitates the Handler/dog bonding relationship. During the course the dog will be exposed to conformation classes with other dogs. Confidence building sessions disguised as play time. And sessions designed with exposure to many different environments. Palm Creek Kennels believes that most dogs want to please, they just need the right positive environment to shine.
